IS IT WORTH IT? | FabFitFun Summer 2018 + $10 OFF COUPON

IS IT WORTH IT? | FabFitFun Summer 2018 + $10 OFF COUPON

As soon as I heard the Foreo Fofo was going to be included in this box, I knew I had to have it. I’ve always wanted one of those fancy Swedish silicone gadgets, but they’re so darn expensive.

My box has been delayed by TWO months (my first box was left at my door and stolen before I returned home -.-) as this is my replacement box. I was SO eager to receive my Elemis skincare, but it was replaced by a much less exciting item. And even with all that drama, this is still the best subscription box I could have asked for. I’m so pumped to finally have all these items in my hands.

What I found really cool was the attention they were drawing to the reduction of the use of plastic straws. In every box they sent a paper straw, and if you took a pledge on The Wildlife Conservation Society’s website you could get a free reusable stainless steel straw for free. Well, because I got this box so late, they’re out of straws. But it’s okay, recently I’ve switched over to carrying around these chic glass straws I got on Amazon (I keep them in the bubbled Glossier pouch to keep them safe). I always keep two in my bag in case I’m with a friend! I just feel super guilty using plastic straws because I just imagine all the dead turtles… If I happen to forget my straws, I’ll just drink my drink by taking off the lid and drinking it like a normal cup.

The box was $49.99 + $8 shipping to Canada. If you haven’t tried FFF and like what you see (though I recommend checking the spoilers at MSA first), you can get your first box for $10 off. What’s super cool is that before your box ships they have a whole sale of like, SUPER discounted goodies (like Bum Bum cream for $20 or something instead of $45 USD). This time around I got a Klorane dry shampoo for 50% off. I talked myself out of buying a bunch of other stuff I don’t need.

I haven’t gotten a FFF box since last Fall. Even though the box is worth SO much more than what you pay, if I don’t want most of the stuff, it’s pretty pointless. Anyways, I never believe the total value is what the company really says it’s worth, so I always like to do some research myself. This time around, I want to know how much all this stuff is worth in Canadian dollars and accounting for recent sales I’ve seen online.

Stated retail value: $343 USD

I paid: $49.99 USD + $8 for shipping

Summer and Rose Beach Towel $55 USD (Sale $27.50 = XE:$36 CAD)

Yo, this micro-fibre towel is bomb. I have a Pack Towl from MEC that I travel with that I adore, and a larger version of it is super welcome. My travel one is pretty utilitarian, so I’ll continue to use that one for my adventuring, but if space isn’t a constraint, this is going to be awesome. I really love that sand doesn’t stick to micro-fibre and dries super fast. The beach towel size of the Pack Towl is $45.75 CAD (my travel towel is the body towel size, which is one size smaller and $28.50 in comparison). So, with the converted USD sale price, this towel is still a great deal.

tarte tarteist Pro Glow highlight and contour palette $45 USD (Was on sale $30 CAD,  now $59 CAD)

I was so, so hoping for this palette over the eye shadow and liquid liner. Recently, this palette was on sale at Sephora for $30 CAD. It usually retails for $59 CAD. I love tarte’s amazonian clay products a lot, especially their highlighters. They are my favorite powder highlighters and blushes.

Orlando Pita Play Atmos-Shield Hair Protectant Treatment Spray $34 USD (XE: $44 CAD)

Ughhh this was the item they replaced my Elemis item with. Super bummed. I just don’t like using product in my hair because I hate the build up it leaves. I’m also super paranoid that all that gross hair stuff will accumulate on my pillowcase and ruin my skin…

Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator $29 USD ($29 CAD)

This product is from a Canadian company started by four Canadian women and is made in Canada!!! I believe the prices in USD and CAD are the same. I love that Canadian companies do that (especially Lululemon).

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel $39 USD ($44 CAD)

This was the first thing I could smell when I opened my box. It smells absolutely heavenly. I’m so happy about this item. I love the peppermint oil roller from Saje for sore muscles. I was super skeptical about applying essential oils at first, but I’ve had great success with peppermint halo.

Foreo Luna fofo $89 USD ($119 CAD)

Teehee I love gadgets. My skin felt so, so clean after using this. It’s so fun to use. I won’t be using this code, so if anyone wants a $15 discount enter in this code (7125881222984).

Coola Face Sport SPF 50 White Tea Moisturizer $32 USD ($44 CAD)

I’m obsessed with trying sunscreens. I haven’t purchased from Coola before because their stuff is so expensive… P.S. use the coupon code ‘yespls’ on well.ca to get $10 off any purchase of $40 or more. Yes! That means you can get this sunscreen for only $34!

Pier 1 Imports Marble Ring Dish $15 USD (XE: $20 CAD)

This is quite a useless item for me. I have so many obscure trinket dishes from Anthropologie… I think this is going to be repurposed as a soap dish for Drunk Elephant travel soap bars.

Real retail value: $395 CAD / $295.50 USD
